PASTA LIFE · GIRONA 85, BARCELONA
You came to Barcelona.
Take home Italy too.
Italian gourmet that travels with you, in the heart of Eixample.
Gragnano, between the Lattari mountains and the Amalfi coast, has milled wheat since the Middle Ages: its Valle dei Mulini housed some of Italy’s first mills. Every pack carries that history inside.
OUR STORY
Pasta Life was born from a round trip back to its roots. Its founder is Italian-Venezuelan: he grew up between two shores — the warmth of the Caribbean and a surname that pointed to Italy. In his blood run Italian and Spanish ancestors who once crossed to Venezuela — his father among them, an emigrant after the Second World War.
In Venezuela he studied business and international gastronomy, but books were not enough for the real hunger: to learn at the source. So he made the reverse journey of his elders and travelled to Abruzzo — land of mountains and sea, of the Costa dei Trabocchi and the arrosticini — to train where you truly learn: the traditional trattoria, the white-tablecloth restaurant, Italian street food, and then wine pairing and cocktails.
Then came a brief, intense London in Brexit times. And with his travel companion, the decision to put down roots in Barcelona: years in restaurant kitchens, from commis to head chef, devoted to three pillars — pasta, sugo and tiramisù — until opening his own shop in the heart of Eixample.
In his heart there are pieces of every country that shaped him. In his shop, a piece of Italy for you: selected raw ingredients, products of Italian origin, and the conviction that the quality of what we eat opens the mind. Come and meet him — Venezuelan warmth included.
